Avonmore House is a beautiful Georgian bed and breakfast in Youghal, County Cork, Ireland, offering a unique blend of historic charm and modern comfort. Built in 1752 on the site of a former Franciscan abbey, this elegant B&B provides a peaceful retreat in the scenic South Abbey area.
Guests can enjoy spacious, well-appointed rooms, complimentary off-street parking, and a prime location just a short walk from Youghal’s stunning 8 km sandy beach and lively town center. A delicious breakfast from our extensive home-cooked menu is available to purchase during your stay. This includes our in-house baked organic sourdough and soda bread. Here for a work trip. It’s home from home !

I can't recommend this place highly enough. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and shown to a lovely spacious room with all the necessary facilities and amenities. The location itself is also fantastic, with all that Youghal has to offer within easy walking distance. It's also a good place to base oneself to explore the wider area by car.
One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast; I sampled as many different choices as I could over the stay and all were delicious!
The star quality of this place however comes from its hosts, John and Mary who were both delightful, extremely welcoming and are fantastic hosts. John was even kind enough to share the spec for his overnight oats, which we're still using at home two months on!

An amazing place to relax in and feel like lord’s of the manor. Priced at a very reasonable level.
Food is 1st class, views over the lake and onwards to mountains.

I highly recommend this hotel. We received a very warm welcome, and the hostess was very accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was very filling, and everyone was guaranteed to be full! The pancakes and overnight oats were prepared with love. Even a very, very early departure didn't stop us, and the host and hostess provided us with a small and delicious packed lunch as a breakfast substitute!

Our stay at Avonmore was 5 stars. Mary and John are the two nicest people you will meet. Upon checking in Mary immediately gave us the lay of the land of Youghal, providing a map and information about the history of the town. They serve made to order breakfast every morning and John makes fresh brown bread that is hot and delicious (best we had on our trip). We felt John and Mary went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, welcoming, and beyond stress free by offering to drive us to the church in town to attend our friends wedding. Would 100% stay at Avonmore again if we return to Youghal.

Thank you Mary & John for a last minute stay due to unfortunate circumstances. The guest house is beautiful, the room we stayed in had a lovely clean home from home feel with everything you need from tv, hair dryer, mini fridge to table & chairs to go through the next route on the map. The beds were extremely comfy, we slept like logs and the power shower worked wonders to help wake us up the next morning! Mary you were so welcoming, kind & friendly (as was your sidekick in the kitchen) and John you have poached eggs down to a fine art, the whole breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. We would and will reccomend you and your guest house to everyone. Many thanks again

We had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel and We couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the moment we arrived, John an Mary were incredibly attentive and charismatic. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, always with a smile and willing to help with anything we needed. Their professionalism and friendliness really made a difference.

I wish I could give more stars! We stayed here the night of our wedding and the night after, as did 8 of our friends. John and Mary, the owners, couldn't have looked after us better. The breakfast is as organic as possible and utterly delicious. Fresh organic bread is baked in house. Our bedroom was spacious, bright, cozy, clean and decorated very well. The overall setting and outside seating areas are lovely as well. I'd highly recommend a stay!

Home away from home to true irish welcome
Loved it here and their breakfast was so good with homemade breads (not one but 4 different types)
John and Mary made me so welcome and at home too.
Location was great too away from the main St but so close to everything too.
Can't wait to go back next year for Pride in Youghal again.
